Bursaries


We are pleased to offer student bursaries, generously funded by the Rank Prize Fund, alongside additional bursaries supported by the conference, to help enable attendance at Photon 2026.

A total of 20 bursaries are available—10 funded by the Rank Prize Fund and 10 funded by the conference. 

Each bursary is valued at £300 and is intended to help with the costs of attending the conference. Bursaries will be paid by Bank Transfer directly after the event on completion of an expenses claim form and receipts. All recipients of a bursary must travel economy class. 

Eligibility criteria:

  • Bursaries will be awarded to graduate students applying for an advanced degree in a suitable subject relevant to Photon 2026 at a UK or Republic of Ireland university.
  • Applicants must be able to attend Photon 2026 for the full duration of the meeting.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are presenting authors, with an abstract accepted for either an oral or poster presentation.
