Student Bursaries
We are pleased to offer student bursaries, generously funded by the Rank Prize Fund, alongside additional bursaries supported by the conference, to help enable attendance at Photon 2026.
A total of 20 bursaries are available—10 funded by the Rank Prize Fund and 10 funded by the conference.
Each bursary is valued at £300 and is intended to help with the costs of attending the conference. Bursaries will be paid by Bank Transfer directly after the event on completion of an expenses claim form and receipts. All recipients of a bursary must travel economy class.

Accessibility Funding
In addition to our student bursaries, we’re also delighted to offer five £300 bursaries for those who are facing financial or funding barriers. Examples include those who do not have academic funds for conference attendance, are currently unsalaried or on a low income, or are returning to work after a career break. If you are interested in applying for one of these bursaries, please send a supporting statement to claire.garland@iop.org. The application deadline is 26 June 2026.
